There are many worthwhile organizations in our community that need the assistance of volunteers to maintain their daily operations. Listed below are opportunities for volunteering your time with the organizations on our Charities List. On their web site are volunteer application forms that you can print. They needvolunteers in their thrift store or the office or the hospice. There is a training program for the hospice care.

HACA needs volunteers to help with office work, teaching nutrition, tutoring at high-risk schools and readers for their bookworms projects.

Safe House has a web site www.safehousenv.org. Safe House has training programs to teach volunteers how to man their hot line, help in the shelter or become a court advocate.

They are always looking for volunteers for their Community Service Club, which takes care of furnishing mobility equipment to residents, doing handyman activities, counseling services, transportation, etc.
At various times during the year the club sponsors food drives for HACA, book fairs or drives for McCaw and HACA, clothing drives for Safe House and food/toy drives during the Holidays. Watch the Spirit, the Chatter and this web site for announcements of our sponsored drives.
